Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 2026

Nurture Your Neurons (“NYN”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what information I collect, why I use it and how I look after it.

Who I am
Nurture Your Neurons is operated by Francesca Oliver, trading as Nurture Your Neurons.
I am the data controller for the personal information described in this policy and am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

What information I collect
When you enquire about or use an NYN service, I may collect information such as:
  • your name and contact details, including your email address, telephone number and address;
  • your child’s name, age or date of birth where relevant;
  • information you provide through an enquiry or intake form;
  • correspondence relating to our work together;
  • information needed to arrange and provide the service; and
  • payment and transaction information.

Information about a child is provided by their parent or carer rather than collected directly from the child.
During coaching or consultation, you may also choose to share information about your child’s behaviour, development, emotional wellbeing, relationships or family circumstances. I only collect and retain information that is reasonably necessary to provide and administer the service.

Notes about our work
NYN is not a therapeutic service. I do not create or retain detailed clinical or case notes.
Any working notes I make are brief and limited to information needed to support our work together. I avoid recording unnecessary identifying or sensitive information and delete working notes when they are no longer needed.

How I use your information
I use personal information to:
  • respond to enquiries;
  • arrange and provide NYN services;
  • communicate with you about our work together;
  • process payments and maintain appropriate business records; and
  • meet legal, accounting or regulatory requirements.

Under UK data protection law, I need a lawful reason for using personal information. Depending on the circumstances, I normally rely on:
  • contract, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, when arranging and providing services;
  • legal obligation, where I am required to keep or use information by law; or
  • legitimate interests, where necessary to respond to enquiries and operate and administer NYN appropriately.

You may sometimes choose to share information relating to health, development or emotional wellbeing. Where this constitutes special category personal data, I will only process it where an appropriate legal condition applies, including obtaining explicit consent where required. The UK GDPR requires additional protection when special-category information such as health information is processed.

How long I keep your information
I keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably needed.
As a general guide:
  • enquiries that do not lead to a service are normally deleted within 12 months of our last contact;
  • brief working notes are normally deleted when they are no longer needed and no later than three months after our work ends;
  • unnecessary information about your child is deleted when it is no longer required;
  • core client and administrative records may be retained for up to six years after our work ends, where needed for business, legal, insurance or accounting purposes; and
  • financial records are retained for as long as required by applicable tax and accounting rules.

I do not retain detailed information about your child or family simply because I keep a basic administrative record.

Who I share information with
I do not sell your personal information and do not share it unnecessarily.
I use trusted service providers where needed to operate NYN, which may include:

  • Wix, which hosts the NYN website and website forms;
  • email and cloud-storage providers;
  • video-call or appointment providers;
  • payment providers; and
  • accounting or other professional services where necessary.

These providers may process personal information on my behalf.
Some technology providers, including Wix, operate internationally and may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, appropriate data-protection safeguards are used as required. Wix states that its services use international infrastructure and subprocessors.

I may also disclose information where required by law or where necessary to protect someone’s safety.

Cookies
The NYN website uses cookies and similar technologies.
Some cookies are necessary for the website to work. Optional cookies, such as those used for analytics, will only be used where permitted and where any required consent has been obtained.
You can manage your choices through the website’s cookie settings.

Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights over your personal information. These may include the right to:
  • access the personal information I hold about you;
  • ask for inaccurate information to be corrected;
  • ask for information to be deleted in certain circumstances;
  • ask for the use of your information to be restricted;
  • object to certain uses of your information; and
  • ask for certain information to be transferred to you or another organisation where the right to data portability applies.
Where I rely on your consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact me at francesca@nurtureyourneurons.com.
You also have the right to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
